Driven by a strong Christian faith, he plays for an AO1 — Audience of One, Jesus Christ — and is deeply committed to working hard, working smart, and developing processes that translate into better game performance.

After transferring to UNCW, Taber started every game at shortstop in 2021 and 2022, helping lead the Seahawks to a CAA Regular Season title in 2021 and both CAA Regular Season and Tournament Championships in 2023, along with an NCAA Regional appearance. He finished his D1 career with 211 starts, over 200 career hits, and a reputation as one of the most reliable shortstops in the country—earning a #36 national ranking by D1Baseball Magazine in 2023.
His accolades include being named 1st Team All-CAA, an ABCA All-Atlantic Region selection, the UNCW Brooks/Scalf Coaches Award winner, and a Coastal Plain League All-Star. Defensively, he broke the UNCW record for assists in a single game, and ranks 8th all-time in double plays turned (89) and 9th in assists (403), while posting one of the top fielding percentages in program history.
